WATA Games, a video game grading and certification service, realized that their educational articles were only speaking to their most expert game collectors — alienating everyday gamers who may be interested in discovering the joys of game collecting.
Partnering with their subject expert, I worked on about 20 articles that created a more well-rounded knowledge center on WATA’s website — teaching readers the process of submitting a game for grading, highlighting specific types of games to collect, updating collectors on certification changes, entertaining readers with snapshots of video game history, and creating a community through a shared love of gaming.
In writing about such a detail-oriented hobby, I tried to strike a balance between language that informs, while still being understandable to audiences of all knowledge levels.
